It is important to establish chronicity criterion firmly. GFR gives the best indication of kidney function. Creatinine estimation should be standardized. Use CKD EPI equation for eGFR. Use of locally modified GFR equations will lead to more accurate diagnosis of CKD. Age sensitive eGFR threshold may be necessary for defining CKD.
